Optional: Enter the storage port WWN for each server WWN. (This value must be entered
before the logical server can be activated.)

Optional: Enter the LUN identifier for each server WWN. (This value must be entered before
the logical server can be activated.)

Repeat steps 1 through 8 for each storage volume for this logical server.

Validation status

After you have specified your storage configuration, confirm that the server WWN has been
associated with the storage port WWN and LUN by pressing the Validate button.

Defining a file (VM) storage entry

The File (VM) Storage Entry screen allows you to specify the file storage configuration for an
ESX or Hyper-V virtual machine logical server.

NOTE:

A File (VM) Storage Entry cannot be inserted into the storage pool. A logical server can

be associated with only one File (VM) Storage Entry, and the storage entry cannot be shared.

NOTE:

If you want to the ability to move the virtual machine logical server to a server with

Virtual Connect, specify SAN storage instead of File (VM) storage. See

“Defining a SAN storage

entry” (page 77)
