The New V-VOL Group panel displays the following items:

V-VOL Group
V-VOL group ID. Enter a whole number from 1 to 8192.

NOTE:

Do not enter a V-VOL group ID that is already used by another V-VOL group. If you enter a

V-VOL group ID that is already used by another V-VOL group and click Next, an error message

appears. In that case, enter a different number for the new V-VOL group ID.

Emulation Type
V-VOL group’s emulation type.

CLPR
V-VOL group’s CLPR.

Next button
Fixes settings in the New V-VOL Group pane, and displays the Create V-VOL wizard pane (1).

Cancel button
Cancels settings in the New V-VOL Group pane, and closes the pane.

The Create V-VOL wizard pane (1) displays the following items:

V-VOL Group
V-VOL group ID set in the New V-VOL Group pane.

Emulation Type
V-VOL’s emulation type.

Capacity Unit
V-VOL’s unit of capacity: MB (megabyte), block, or Cyl.

Capacity
V-VOL’s capacity. If you selected MB from the Capacity Unit drop-down list, enter a whole number from

46 to 2097151. If you selected block, enter a whole number from 96000 to 4294967296. If you

selected Cyl, enter a whole number from 50 to 2236962.

Number of V-VOL
Number of V-VOLs you want to add. Enter a whole number from 1 to 256.
