NOTE:

Snapshot XP does not support Quick Split mode. If you specify Quick Split mode, snapshot data is

not be stored in the pool even if the command ends normally.

Restoring Snapshot XP pairs

Use the RAID Manager

pairresync -restore

command to restore Snapshot XP pairs. The Snapshot

XP pair must be in PSUS status when you restore the pair.
When the restoration is complete, the pair status changes to PAIR. For more information about the

pairresync -restore

command, see the HP StorageWorks RAID Manager XP User Guide.

CAUTION:

If a failure occurs during the restoration, the pair status changes to PSUE. To recover the PSUE

pair, delete the pair’s snapshot data. When you recover the PSUE pair by deleting its snapshot data, the

P-VOL’s data is not guaranteed. Therefore, you must overwrite the P-VOL with backup data or format the

P-VOL.

NOTE:

Snapshot XP does not support Quick Restore mode. If you specify Quick Restore mode, the

Snapshot XP pair is not restored even if the command ends normally.

Deleting snapshot data

Use the RAID Manager

pairresync

command to delete snapshot data. You can store up to 64 snapshot

data per P-VOL. Therefore, to store new snapshot data for a P-VOL that already has 64 snapshot data, you

must delete old snapshot data.
If you delete snapshot data, free area in the pool increases. To delete snapshot data, issue the

pairresync

command on Snapshot XP pairs in PSUS status. If the snapshot data shares a data area with

another snapshot data, only the snapshot ID is deleted; the data itself is not deleted from the pool.
For more information about the

pairresync

command, see the HP StorageWorks RAID Manager XP

User Guide.

NOTE:

Snapshot XP does not support Quick Resync mode. If you specify Quick Resync mode, snapshot

data is not deleted even if the command ends normally.

Deleting Snapshot XP pairs

Use the RAID Manager command or Pairsplit-S pane to delete Snapshot XP pairs.
If you use RAID Manager to delete Snapshot XP pairs, you must use the

pairsplit -S

command. By

using this command, you can delete only one pair at a time. For more information about the

pairsplit

-S

command, see the HP StorageWorks RAID Manager XP User Guide.

If you use the Pairsplit-S pane, you can delete multiple pairs at one time. You can open the Pairsplit-S pane

either from the Business Copy XP main pane or the Snapshot XP pane. To select pairs to be deleted by

port, host group, or LUN, open the Pairsplit-S pane from the Business Copy XP main pane. To select pairs

by pool, open the Pairsplit-S pane from the Snapshot XP pane.
