Connections
Connections
The Storage Mirroring connection is the link between the source replication set and a target machine. It is a logical connection
and refers to the relationship between the replication set on the source and the copy of the data on the target, as well as the
status of the connection. The different connection states are described below.

Description
Started
The network connection exists and is available for data transmission. Replication and mirror data are
transmitted to the target as soon as possible. This is the standard state that you will see most often.
Stopped
The source and target machines have been linked through the Storage Mirroring client software, but
the network connection does not exist. Replication and mirror data are not transmitted to the target,
but are held in queue on the source.
Paused
The network connection exists and is available for data transmission, but the replication and mirror
data is being held in a queue and is not being transmitted to the target.
Scheduled
The source and target machines have been linked through the Storage Mirroring client software, but
the network connection is not established until event driven or scheduling criteria have been met.
Error
A transmission error has occurred. Possible errors include a broken physical line or a failed target.
NOTE:
These connection states are under the
Transmit Mode
column in the Management Console and the
Transmit
column in the Text Client.
