SCC Key Switch

SCC Key Switch

The key switch on the SCC allows you to access switch cards either locally or remotely
by turning the key switch from LOCAL (L) to REMOTE (R).

When the key switch is in the LOCAL position:

You can change the position of the switches by manually moving the toggle
switch on the switch cards.

You can check the status of the switch module using SWCI status commands.

SWCI action commands, such as the SWITCH command, have no effect on
this switch module, and Nomadic Disk Manager commands that rely on SWCI
action commands also have no effect. Turning the key switch to the LOCAL
position disables control from switch-controller software.

When the key switch is in the REMOTE position:

You can change the switches on each switch card in this switch module using
switch-controller software, such as SWCI or the Nomadic Disk Manager.

You cannot change the switches by manually moving the toggle switch on each
switch card. Turning the key switch to the REMOTE position disables the
toggle switches on the switch cards. The toggle switches can be moved, but
they have no effect.
