Deleting Old Software Revisions

You can delete an old software revision through the Delete Revisions button on the Target Page.

You cannot delete a current revision (the last configuration whose state is applied), the last software
revision before that current revision whose state is applied, or any revisions more recent than those
revisions.

You can delete individual software packages only if a configuration revision is not using them. To
delete any software package, you must delete all software revisions that link to it. Delete a software
revision only if you are certain that you will never need that specific software revision again.

To delete an entire software configuration, which removes all of its revisions, see

“Deleting a

Software Configuration through ZPHIHMI” (page 161)

.

Sharing Software Revisions

You can share software revisions among planners in the same planner group. Planners can submit
a Build/Apply request for new shared software revisions created by any planner belonging to the
same planner group.

You can use the Manage Planners interface in NonStop Software Essentials to add planners, define
planner security settings, create and assign members to planner groups. To access the Manage
Planners interface, select Manage Planners either from under the “Maintenance” heading on the
NonStop Software Essentials home page or from the Maintenance menu on the NonStop Software
Essentials menu bar. For more information, see the NonStop Software Essentials online help.

If Clone Groups exist, a Clone Group column is inserted in the Configuration Revisions view. For
detailed information, see

“Simplified Installation and Management of Multiple Identical NonStop

Servers (Cloning)” (page 173)

.

Comparing Software Revisions or SUTs

for this purpose, as follows:

1.

Create a new revision using any target.

2.

Delete all products from the new revision.

3.

Copy the first SUT or Revision into the new revision.

4.

Load the second SUT or Revision into the source table.

5.

Look at the differences in the “!” column.

6.

Delete the new revision.
