Output Tab

This tab contains the following configurable or informational fields:

Under “Activation package/snapshot location,” select or enter the name of a disk volume or
tape drive to which the activation package and snapshot will be written. For tapes, specify a
Label type of either:

Handwritten External Tape ID (Optional) – This is the default option and no input is
required in the input field. The optional external tape ID is a 6-character identifier of an
external tape label used in EMS event messages displayed to operators during processing
of this request.

Electronic Tape Volume ID – Enter a 5 character tape volume ID.

Output location for target reports – the name of a spooler or file to which the output, created
by Backup, is sent when a snapshot is created for this target. The default shown is from the
profile for this target.

Target volume for new subvolumes – Enter the volume on the target system where any new
TSVs are placed when new software is applied. The default shown is from the profile for this
target. The drop down list contains the volumes on the target system that the host knows about.
The drop down list contains only the default volume from the profile for this target if a snapshot
from the target system has never been received. Select either a volume from the drop down
list or enter the name of the volume you wish to use. If the primary and alternate names are
different, enter both names with a space between them (such as $OAK $PINE).

NOTE:

Changing this value will change new TSV volume assignments made on the “TSV

Locations Tab”.

Guardian defaults for new files – enter an Ownership ID and choose between security options:

NOTE:

These settings only apply to files for which there is no prior managed version on the

target. If a version of an existing file is replaced with a different version, the new file adopts
the ownership and security settings from the file it replaces.

As received – which sets the security to the value that existed for the files when they were
received into the Archive.

Set to [RWEP] – which specifies the security to the value, which you can then modify. The
security-number format like %4646 is not allowed. Examples: “NCCC” or “COOO.”

Create subvolume(s) for – specify any extra file types to be installed. The default (pre-selected)
values are from the profile for this target; you can override those by changing the options
selected.
