the host bus adapter chipset

First, you need to determine which adaptor your tape is going to be installed upon.
Secondly, determine which adaptor your disks are installed upon. If you are
running a SCSI system and wish to install SCO, you have to have the root disk on
SCSI ID 0.

The host bus adaptor chipset determines which drivers are used to talk to SCSI
peripherals, as shown in the following table:

Adaptec

78xx chipset

alad driver

Symbios

slha driver

the symbios logic host adaptor

Note that in order to install onto a Symbios adaptor you will need to install the
symha driver package. This is referred to in this document as the slha (Symbios
Logic Host Adaptor) driver.
