68-to-50 Pin SCSI Adapter

If installing a device that uses a Fast SCSI-2 interface, you must provide a 68-to-
50 pin SCSI adapter. This adapter should be installed between the 50-pin
interface on the device and the 68-pin SCSI cable connected to the SCSI channel
on the system board.

Installing an Internal-to-External SCSI Connector

If you are not using one or both SCSI channels (primary or secondary) internally
or you install a SCSI or SmartArray option card, you may install an internal-to-
external SCSI connector in the SCSI knockout locations on the rear of the
chassis.

For installation instructions, refer to the VHDCI or HD68 SCSI Cable ("VHDCI
or HD68 SCSI Cable Option
" on page

70

) section in this guide.

Cabling SCSI SmartArray or other RAID Controller

Many configurations are possible when SCSI controllers are added. This section
outlines the procedure for connecting internal hard drives to a SCSI controller
option or a SmartArray controller and assumes that the controller option or
SmartArray controller is already installed.
