Go to the

<CLI_user_name>/PolicyAdvisor

directory on the host computer and

change the permissions on the

PolicyAdvisor.tcl

file to make it executable.

chmod 555 ./PolicyAdvisor.tcl

You can now use the Policy Advisor

PolicyAdvisor.tcl

script. For details about using the

3PAR Policy Advisor for Dynamic Optimization, see Using the Policy Advisor on Linux or Solaris

on page 4.6.

3.5 Installing the Policy Advisor on Windows

To install the Policy Advisor on a host computer running Windows:

Download the 3PAR Policy Advisor package from the 3PAR Document Control System at

http://stdev.3pardata.com/docs/docs_main.php.

Copy the Policy Advisor package to the installation directory, the recommended location is

C:\Program Files\3PAR

.

Unzip the package. Unzipping the file creates the

PolicyAdvisor

sub-directory

containing the following files:

PolicyAdvisor.tcl

policyadvisor.bat

<Version>_Policy_Advisor_Users_Guide.pdf

Verify the InForm CLI is in the Windows

PATH

variable. Open a Windows DOS

cmd

window,

type

path

, and verify the following entry is included:

PATH= ... C:\Program Files\3PAR\inform_cli_<version>\bin ...

If the InForm CLI entry is missing, please verify that the InForm CLI is correctly installed.

You can now use the Policy Advisor

policyadvisor
