The Policy Advisor Script

3PAR Policy Advisor User’s Guide

-cpg <CPG_name>|<pattern>

The

<CPG_name>

is the name of the Common Provisioning Group (CPG) specified

for analysis by the Policy Advisor. A pattern of CPGs may also be specified. The CPGs

are analyzed and tuning suggestions are generated for CPGs where the layout can

be improved. If no CPG name or pattern is specified, all CPGs are analyzed.

The

-cpg

option can only be used in conjunction with the

-tunepct

and

-list

options.

Linux and Solaris wildcards.

A pattern consisting of the virtual volume name and embedded wildcards can also

be used. The wildcard character

*

must be used with the

\

character. For example:

./PolicyAdvisor.tcl CPG\*

analyzes virtual volume names

CPGA

,

CPGB

,

CPG_copy1

, etc.

Windows wildcards.

A pattern consisting of the virtual volume name and embedded wildcards can also

be used. The wildcard character

*

can be used with the virtual volume name. For

example:

policyadvisor CPG*

analyzes virtual volume names

CPGA

,

CPGB

,

CPG_copy1

, etc.

-norpm

For systems with mixture of 10K and 15K FC drives this option can be used to

generate tuning operations using all available FC drives regardless of speed. Using

this option overrides the

-rpm

option in virtual volume creation patterns. This

option only affects tuning suggestions for virtual volumes that provision space

directly from Logical Disks (LD).

NOTE: To display help for the Policy Advisor script, use the

PolicyAdvisor.tcl

-h

or the

policyadvisor

-h

command.
