Interpreting network connector lights

Link light is on. Activity light is off. The device is connected to the
network but is not receiving or
transmitting data over the network.
The device is turned on and idle.
No action is required.
Link light is on. Activity light blinks. The device is receiving or transmitting
data over the network.
No action is required.
Link light is off. Activity light is off. The device is turned off or is not
connected to the network.
