• When performing an offline micro program replacement, delete all XRC pairs by XDELPAIR
command before PS OFF, and then create all pairs again by XADDPAIR command after PS
ON.
• When performing volatile PS ON, delete all XRC pairs by XDELPAIR command immediately
after PS ON, and then create all pairs again by XADDPAIR command.
Caution: Do not execute the RESUME operation during the following conditions:
• When pair volumes are suspended by XSUSPEND TSO command
• When pair volumes are suspended by some failure
Before executing the RESUME operation, always check that the sidefile of the Compatible XRC pairs
does not exist in the cache. If it does exist, it may cause a timeout error.
Caution: Do not try to delete Compatible XRC pairs when a large number of sidefiles of Compatible
XRC exists on the cache. Time out error may occur with the following message being displayed.

ANTX5150E XRC SESSION(session_id) HAS STALLED, REASON=reason
Execute Delete operation after confirming that sidefiles do not exist on the cache (number of sidefiles=0)
by the XQUERY TSO command or SCDATA operation.
In case of timeout error, pair information managed by SDM and DKC may not match (pair status
managed by SDM side, which XDELPAIR is executed, is deleted but session may remain on DKC in
some cases). Therefore, check whether the session is remaining by the LISTSESS command. If the
session is remaining, terminate the session by the TERMSESS command.
After the termination of the session, when the XADDPAIR command is executed, the ANTA5107E
message (RC=608) may appear. If this occurs, the XADDPAIR command may fail. Re- execute the
XADDPAIR command again if this occurs.
Caution: In Compatible XRC, WRITE PACING function is not supported when the DKC emulation
type is 3990-6 and 3990-6E. Therefore, an error will occur with ANTA5107E message (RC=4130)
when the WRITE PACING operation is executed using the XADDPAIR command to a Compatible XRC
pair that has 3990-6 or 3990-6E as the DKC emulation type.
SDM pair status will be deleted but the session may remain on DKC in such cases. Therefore, check
whether the session is remaining by LISTSESS command. If the session is remaining, terminate the
session by TERMSESS command.
Installing the Compatible XRC Software
The HP Compatible XRC program product must be installed on the XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array
storage systems in the primary site.
