Booting to the UEFI Shell

You can select the UEFI Shell for a one-time boot override whenever necessary. This option does
not modify your predefined boot order settings.

To boot to the UEFI Shell:
1.

Reboot the server.

2.

During the reboot, press F11 Boot Menu in the HP ProLiant POST screen. In a few minutes,
the One-Time Boot menu screen appears.

3.

Select Embedded UEFI Shell, and press Enter.

4.

Press any key to acknowledge that you are physically present. This steps ensure that certain
features, such as disabling Secure Boot or managing the Secure Boot certificates using
third-party UEFI tools are not restricted.

5.

If an admin password is set, enter it at the prompt. For information on setting the admin
password, see the HP UEFI System Utilities User Guide.

The Shell> prompt appears.

6.

.

7.
