CU list: Used to select the CU number of the volume you want to specify as the S-VOL. The number of

CUs displayed in the list depends on what you specified. The maximum number of CUs displayed is

32.

Set button: Sets a copy pair. Select a volume to be the P-VOL in the Pair Volume list, select the volume

to be the S-VOL in the Candidate Volume list, and click Set. The S-VOL selected in the Candidate

Volume list is added to the S-Vol column in the Pair Volume list, and the row appears in blue and

italics (

Figure 24

). This indicates that the copy pair is set. For more information about setting a copy

pair, see

” on page 40 and ”

selected copy pair is released. The volume that appeared in the S-Vol column is deleted from the Pair

Volume list, and displayed in the Candidate Volume list.

specified in the Pair Volume Setting pane appear on the Flex Copy XP pane.

XP pane.

Copy Type Setting pane

The Copy Type Setting pane appears when you set the copy pair on the Pair Volume Setting pane, and

click Apply on the Flex Copy XP pane. You can use the Copy Type Setting pane to set the copy type and

copy pace.
When you click Apply, one Copy Type Setting pane appears, even though multiple copy pair settings are

set in the Preset list (see

Preset list

” on page 37). Therefore, the same setting for the Copy Type Setting

pane is applied to all copy pairs set in the same Preset list. To specify a different setting for each copy

pair, you must apply the setting each time you set a copy pair and complete the copy pair setting

operation.

Copy Pace: Used to select the copy pace. You can select Medium, Slow, or Faster. If you select Slow,

you can minimize the impact of Flex Copy XP operations on I/O performance. If you select Faster,

copy processing finishes more quickly.

Copy Type: Select the copy type for the copy pair from the following:
• Copy: Copy processing for the copy pair you set starts as soon as you click OK on the Copy Type

Setting pane.

• No Copy: Copy processing for the copy pair does not start, even though you click OK on the Copy

Type Setting pane. Only the copy pair’s setting is available. To start copy processing, you must

operate the copy pair using RAID Manager XP.

Copying data in an external LU to a local array volume

Before starting copy operations, you must map the external LU to be copied as an internal LU so it is ready

for use. For more information about setting an external LU, see the HP StorageWorks External Storage XP

user guide.
