Preparing Cartridges for Use
The TL881 MiniLibrary comes with one DLT tape cartridge and one cleaning
cartridge.
IMPORTANT: The TL881 MiniLibrary accepts only CompacTape III, CompacTape IIIXT,
and CompacTape IV cartridges. For best performance, use CompacTape IV cartridges in
the library. DO NOT use CompacTape I or CompacTape II cartridges.
NOTE: To order additional tape cartridges, contact you Compaq authorized dealer or
resealler.
Applying Bar Code Labels
Before placing a cartridge in the library, you must apply a bar code label that
uniquely identifies it to the library. When applying the bar code label:
■ Use only the labels provided with the library.
■ Apply cleaning cartridge labels only to cleaning cartridges; apply data
labels only to data cartridges.
■ Apply the label
¯ to the front face of the cartridge as shown in Figure
F–3.
