Tape Requirements
The MiniLibrary system uses ECMA-approved and ANSI proposed-standards
DLTtape cartridges. The DLTtape cartridge is a four-inch square plastic
cartridge. According to the media manufacturer, the cartridge and the medium
are designed to withstand 1,000,000 passes, and to have a shelf life of 30 years
when properly stored.
Cartridge Handling and Storage
A DLTtape cartridge should be stored vertically until you select it for use. Do
not expose a cartridge to moisture or direct sunlight. Maintain a clean, dust-
free working and storage environment.
If a DLTtape cartridge is dropped:
■
Inspect the cartridge carefully before you insert it into a MiniLibrary
magazine or any drive.
