ON

<ESC> “I “

Inquiry Command: In the buffered mode,
requests the Reader to Transmit data, or “E”
for error, or “R” for empty buffer. In the
unbuffered mode transmits an ASCII “R”.

ON

<ESC> “R”

Release Command: In the buffered mode,
requests the Reader to clear the memory
buffer of any data present. This command
has no effect in the unbuffered mode.


TIMING

Transmission timing is shown in Figure 3-3. Each ASCII character is transmitted with 1 start
bit, 7 data bits, 1 parity bit, and 1 stop bit. Logic levels conform to standard RS-232 levels; logic
levels are “true” or “1” if the level is low. The levels are quiescently low.
