3.5 Competition - Route Set - Alter - Delete

Even when a Competition route, called up during flight, is treated differently from a usual
route, there is only few difference when setting or changing it. The route can be set up with
the help of the key board similar to a normal route or can be transferred from the PC.
The FAI route can be altered, WPs in it can be erased, but its name, however, cannot be
deleted.
Each one of the other routes can be copied to replace a Comp.-route with the McC /Mark
key. The same key is used to assign the status “Start Cylinder” to one of the waypoints. For
the Start-cylinder the user chooses if the race begins by “Enter or Exit” the cylinder
circumference. To each of the WPs in the Comp-route a different cylinder-radius can be
assigned. There is also a count down timer linked with the Start-cylinder . With its help the
pilot knows exactly how many min. and sec. will pass until the window is open.

3.6 Restricted areas CTRs Set - Alter - Delete

After choosing the ‘Restricted areas’ in the Main Setup menu and briefly pressing the Enter
button, all stored restricted areas are listed on the screen. You can choose one with the
arrow keys

and you can delete it with F2 (Del CTR). With a consecutive key press

on Enter you reach the edit mode for one CTR. You can change any setting like with the WP
edit mode. You can chose with the arrow keys

a topic and enter a new, delete or

change it. This is possible for corner positions, radii, the warning distance and the comment.
We recommend to use Flychart from Version 4.50 on to manage the restricted areas.

It is possible to enter restricted airspace/restricted areas (CTRs) in the 5030. CTRs will be
shown on the real-time map and can be polygons, circles or polygons with arc sections. The
number of possible CTR's depends on the memory available in the instrument and the
unlocked SW-Packages.

Without unlocking software packages it is possible to enter one CTR. With Basic
Settings>Init CTRs. The default CTR is Innsbruck and can be changed from the
keypad/FlyChart.

Without memory expansion, but with package 01 unlocked (Main Setup
Menu>Optional SW Packages) it is possible to enter up to 20 CTR’s (depending on
the number points required to define the CTR). The unlock code from can be
purchased from Flytec. Practically we reached around 14 CTR’s with a 128kB
EEPROM, depending on the number of points.

With a memory expansion to 512kB it is possible to enter up to 300 CTRs (again
depending on the complexity of the CTRs). To use this option The 5030 memory
must be expanded and software package 02 must be purchased from Flytec.
