Digital Output

Lets you select the digital audio output format that is suitable for your TV or AV Receiver.

PCM : PCM is the default setting and offers the best compatibility with most TV and AV Receivers.
The Smart Media Player always outputs sound in the PCM format.
Select PCM if you want to use the product's Volume Control function.

Bitstream (Unprocessed) : Select Bitstream if you have connected the Smart Media Player to an AV receiver or home theater and want to hear Multi-
channel Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital plus sound. If you select Bitstream, you must use the volume control on the receiver or home theater to control the
volume.

Be sure to select the correct Digital Output or you will hear no sound or a loud noise.

If the HDMI device (AV receiver, TV) is not compatible with compressed formats (Dolby Digital), the audio signal outputs as PCM.
