2A. Phone Basics

Hard Pause:

Enter digits and then use this feature to

enter a hard pause within a number string (the
phone waits for your input).

Once used, a popup menu asks if you would like
to send the remaining numbers. To continue
dialing, you must press

Send Tones

(left softkey).

(See “Dialing and Saving Phone Numbers With
Pauses” on page 25.)

2sec Pause:

Enter digits and then use this feature to

enter a 2 second delay within a number string (the
phone continues dialing after 2 seconds without any
additional keys being pressed). (See “Dialing and
Saving Phone Numbers With Pauses” on page 25.)

Answering Calls

1.

Make sure your phone is on. (If your phone is off,
incoming calls go to voicemail.)

2.

Press

to answer an incoming call.

(Depending on your settings, you may also answer
incoming calls by opening the phone or by
pressing any number key. See “Call Answer Mode”
on page 45
for more information.)

Your phone notifies you of incoming calls in the
following ways:

The phone rings or vibrates.

The indicator light flashes.

The backlight illuminates.

The screen displays an incoming call message.

If the incoming call is from a number stored in your
Contacts, the entry’s name is displayed. You may also
see the caller’s phone number, if available.

If you set Call Answer to

Talk Key

(see “Call Answer

Mode” on page 45), you also see the following options.
To select an option, press the corresponding softkey.

Silent

(left softkey) to mute the onboard speaker and

temporarily silence the ringer.

Ignore

(right softkey) to send the call to your voicemail

box.

Note

To quiet the ringer, press

or press the volume

button.
