Image Size
Choose the size at which pictures are recorded (pg. 69).
Image Area
Although the D3 can record photographs with the same diagonal
picture angle as a 35mm format camera using a 3 : 2 aspect ratio, it
can also be used to record photographs with the smaller DX
picture angle or the 5 : 4 aspect ratio (pg. 60).
JPEG Compression
Choose whether to compress JPEG images to a fixed size or to vary
file size for improved image quality (pg. 67).
NEF (RAW) Recording
Choose compression and bit-depth options for NEF (RAW) images
(pg. 68).
White Balance
