A GAME INPUT VIDEO jack

Use a video cable (not supplied) to connect the
video output of the optional video game player
to this jack. You can then output video through
this system.

B GAME INPUT AUDIO L/R jacks

Use audio cords (not supplied) to connect the
audio output of the optional video game player
to these jacks. You can then output audio
through this system. To listen to the analog
sound of a connected video game, press GAME.

Notes

• To enjoy video game sound, see “Enhancing video

game sound” on page 25, or see “Mixing video game
sound with other sound source” on page 26 fo
r video
game sound effects.

• The video game player image may appear on the TV

screen even if the system is turned off.

• If you press GAME while the system is off, the

system turns on, the function switches to GAME, and
the equalizer also switches to the previously selected
game preset effect.

• If you press GAME while the system is on, the

function switches to GAME and the equalizer
automatically switches to the previously selected
game preset effect.

C VIDEO/MD (AUDIO) IN L/R jacks

Use audio cords (not supplied) to connect an
optional analog component (VCR or MD deck)
to these jacks. You can then output audio
through this system.

D CD DIGITAL OUT jack

(MHC-GN880/GN770/GN660 only)

Use a digital optical cable (square, not supplied)
to connect the audio input of the optional MD
deck to this jack. You can then record digital
audio from this system.

Note

There is no digital audio output from this jack during
playback of an MP3 audio track.

E VIDEO OUT jack

Use a video cable (not supplied) to connect the
video input of TV to this jack.

Connect the audio cords.

See “Hooking up optional components” on
page 33.

Press VIDEO/MD to switch the function
to VIDEO or MD.

Start playing the connected component.

If you cannot select “MD” by pressing
VIDEO/MD repeatedly, hold down
VIDEO/MD and then press ?/1 while the
power is on. The function will change from
“VIDEO” to “MD” and “MD” will appear
in the display. To change back to “VIDEO”,
repeat the same procedure.

Note

If the sound is distorted or too loud when “VIDEO” is
selected, repeat the operation described above to
switch to “MD”.

Tip

You can also press FUNCTION repeatedly on the
remote to select “VIDEO”.
