Optional Components

When your DVD player has
stereo analog outputs

Connect the LINE OUT (audio) output jack of
your DVD player to the FRONT jacks of DVD
INPUT with the audio connecting cord. To
listen to the sound from the connected DVD
player, press DVD 5.1CH to turn off the
indicator on the button.

Notes

• Be sure to match the color of the plugs and the

connectors.

• Each time you press DVD 5.1CH, the function

changes as follows:
DVD 5.1CH (indicator on)

y DVD (2 channel)

(indicator off)

• You cannot enjoy the 5.1 channel surround sound if

you connect a DVD player which does not have the
5.1 channel analog outputs.

• When you press DSP or PRO LOGIC while

listening to 5.1 channel surround sound, the 5.1
channel surround sound turns to 2 channel surround
sound.

• If there is no sound when you connect a DVD

player which has 5.1 channel analog outputs,
connect the audio output jacks of your DVD player
to the MD (VIDEO) IN jacks, then change the
function to “MD” by pressing MD (VIDEO). If you
cannot select “MD”, see page 24.

Connecting a video game
machine

Connect the video output of the video game
machine to the VIDEO jack, and the audio
output to the AUDIO jacks on the front panel
of the system. Connect the VIDEO OUT jack
on the rear panel of the system to the video
input of a TV using the optional video cable.

To listen to the sound of the connected video
game machine, press GAME.
