Storage

NOTE: There is very little that can go wrong with your air tool and it should
be noted that where an air tool fails to work it is generally because the
internal workings have corroded due to dirty wet air and failure to follow the
instructions given below
• When you store the machine after use, always ensure there is oil in the

inline oiler. If necessary, top up the oil before packing the
machine away neatly in its case

• Failure to comply with the operating and maintenance instructions may

invalidate the guarantee

• Always store the machine neatly in the case provided

Unpacking Your Tool

• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all

features and functions of it.

• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If

any parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before
attempting to use this tool.

Operating Instructions

Silverline air tools generally operate within a maximum operating air
pressure of 90psi (see specification details). The air pressure should be
controlled with a combined regulator oil/water filter ensuring a constant
supply of dry air and oil to the machine.
Always check the machine's operating pressure and set the regulator
accordingly.
Water collects in the compressor tank and this water will cause serious
corrosion to your machines. The tank must be drained on a daily basis to
prevent any water build up in the air supply.
Dirty wet air will rapidly corrode the internal working parts of your machine
and shorten its working life significantly.

NOTE: Some air tools, including this grinder, have built in regulators, which
are used to control speed/torque performance. Where a machine does not
have a built in regulator the speed/torque can still be adjusted by varying
the pressure on your air supply regulator.

Preparing the tool

1. Connect the Inline Oiler (5) to the air inlet, and the ¼" BSP Quick

Connector (4). Ensure tight connections

2. On the Inline Oiler (5), unscrew the screw fixing to access the oil

reservoir. Fill the reservoir with air tool oil

NOTE: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE NORMAL ENGINE OIL

3. Refit screw to re-seal the reservoir

Fitting/removing a grinding stone

1. Ensure grinder is not connected to the air supply
2. Use one Collet Spanner (3) to clamp the drive shaft. See Fig. 2. You

may need to rotate the drive shaft until the flat faces are aligned with
the collar fixing positions

3. Holding the drive shaft static, fit the other spanner to the collet and

rotate counter-clockwise to open the collet

4. If a grinder head is in the machine, you can remove it now

To fit a grinding stone

1. Insert the shank of the grinding stone into the collet as far as it will go
2. Clamp the drive shaft with one spanner. See Fig. 2
3. Fit the other spanner to the collet and rotate clockwise to tighten

Operating

1. Connect tool to air supply and turn on air supply
2. Hold the body of the machine with one hand, ensuring the grinder

head is not in contact with any object. See Fig.3

3. With the other hand, rotate barrel switch at the base of the Grinder (1)

clockwise to the ON position to start the grinder

4. Rotate barrel switch counter-clockwise to the OFF position to turn off

the grinder

IMPORTANT: Never run the grinder without oil in the inline oiler
