Adjusting the angle of the guide
• Loosen the Angle Locking Knob (8) and slide the Angle Scale (7) into the correct position. The scale
ranges from 0 - 135°
WARNING: Once the angle has been selected, it is crucial to tighten the Angle Locking Knob (8)
before use. Failure to do so could result in damage to the workpiece or machine.
Adjusting the cutting height
Note: As the groove for the biscuit dowel must always be in the middle of the workpiece, the cutting
height must be adjusted to half the thickness of the material.
• The cutting height can be adjusted from 0 – 30mm and can be set with reference to the Height
Scale (13)
1. Release the Height Adjustment Lock (12)
2. Rotate the Height Adjustment Knob (11) clockwise to raise the Angle Guide (5) and therefore
lower the position of the blade
3. Rotate the Height Adjustment Knob anticlockwise to lower the Angle Guide and therefore lift
the position of the saw blade up
4. Tighten the Height Adjustment Lock to lock the Angle Guide at height required
Marking the workpiece
• Before starting to cut, the workpieces must be clearly marked:
1. Place the two workpieces that you wish to connect on top of each other, and use a clamp to
secure them together
2. If multiple grooves are required, determine their spacing. Grooves should be spaced 100-
150mm apart
Note: This doesn’t concern smaller workpieces which can be connected with only one single
biscuit dowel.
3. Using a pencil, clearly mark the centre of the grooves
Positioning the machine
• Small workpieces: Align the side of the Adjustable Angle Guide (5) with the side of the workpiece
• Large workpieces with multiple biscuit dowel connections: Align the midpoint mark on the Adjustable
Angle Guide (5) with the markings you have made on the workpiece
Operation
WARNING: Always wear personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection, when
operating this tool.
Note: Before starting work, practice on scrap material to establish that the machine achieves an
accurate joint, and if necessary adjust accordingly.
Making a cut
WARNING: Ensure you have made all necessary adjustments before commencing the cut.
Note: ALWAYS securely clamp your workpiece, to ensure it does not move when making a cut.
1. Hold the joiner securely, with both hands, by the Rear Handle (1) and Front Handle (2)
2. Rest the Adjustable Angle Guide (5) on the workpiece
WARNING: It is crucial that the Adjustable Angle Guide (5) remains completely flat on the workpiece,
for the entire duration of the cut.
3. Ensure that the blade is not in contact with the workpiece, or any other object
4. Start the machine by holding down the Lock-Off Button (4), and squeezing the On/Off Trigger
Switch (3)
5. Allow the motor to reach full speed
6. Slowly push the joiner into the workpiece by applying forward pressure to the Rear Handle (1)
7. Maintain a steady movement, and ensure that the Adjustable Angle Guide is continually
pressed against the workpiece
8. Once the cutter has reached the set depth, it should be removed from the workpiece
9. Slowly release pressure from the rear handle until the blade is clear, then release the On/Off
Trigger Switch
WARNING: NEVER switch the machine on or off when the blade is still on contact with the workpiece.
DO NOT place the machine down until the blade has stopped completely.
WARNING: ALWAYS disconnect the machine from the power supply when finished cutting, or when
leaving the tool unattended.
Joining workpieces
• When the grooves in both workpieces have been cut, the workpieces can be joined together:
1. Apply a suitable glue to both grooves
2. Place the biscuit dowel into the groove of one workpiece
3. Place the other workpiece on top of the biscuit dowel
4. Clamp the workpieces together, and wait until the glue has dried (refer to the glue
manufacturer’s instructions)
Joining workpieces with multiple connections
• If joining workpieces with multiple biscuit dowel connections, or when small adjustments may
be necessary:
1. Cut a groove as big as one biscuit into the first workpiece
2. Apply glue and place a biscuit into the groove
3. Cut a longer groove into the other workpiece (see image)
4. Now both workpieces can be positioned easily towards each other, and there is clearance to
correct their position
5. Clamp the workpieces together, and wait until the glue has dried

Maintenance
WARNING: Always disconnect this tool from the power supply before cleaning or carrying out any
maintenance.
General inspection
• Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight. They may vibrate loose over time
• Inspect the supply cord of the tool, prior to each use, for damage or wear. Repairs should be carried
out by an authorised Triton service centre. This advice also applies to extension cords used with
this tool
Changing the saw blade
WARNING: ALWAYS ensure the device is disconnected from the power supply when changing
accessories, and ALWAYS wear cut-proof gloves when handling saw blades.
1. Turn the device on its back, with the bottom of the Blade Cover (18) facing upward
2. Loosen the 4 screws using a suitable Phillips screwdriver, until the Blade Cover slides
sideways, and can be removed
3. Press the Spindle Lock Button (16) and turn the saw blades slowly by hand, until you feel the
locking mechanism engage. Hold the Spindle Lock Button
4. Use the included hex key to loosen the retaining screw of the saw blade flange
5. Remove the retaining screw, flange and saw blade
6. Insert a new saw blade of identical type and dimensions (see ‘Specification’)
WARNING: ALWAYS observe the direction of rotation, as indicated by the arrow on the gear housing.
7. Refit the blade flange and retaining screw, and retighten with the hex key
8. Release the Spindle Lock Button, refit the Blade Cover and tighten with a Phillips screwdriver
Cleaning
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and shorten
the machine’s service life. Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth. If available,
use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes
Brushes
• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn
• Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure, or visible sparking
• If you suspect that the brushes may be worn, have them replaced at an authorised Silverline
service centre
Note: One pair of spare carbon brushes is supplied with this tool.
Storage
• Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children
Disposal
Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no longer functional
and are not viable for repair.
• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), with
household waste
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct way to dispose of
power tools
