6. Align the notch on the contact edge of the new memory module with the key in the memory slot and

then carefully insert the memory module into the slot at an angle of about 20 degrees

. Then pivot

the memory module downward until it snaps into place

. Ensure that you press the new memory

module firmly into the slot.

Notes:

• Do not touch the contact edge and circuit board of the memory module to avoid any damage.

• If only one memory module is to be installed, install it in the bottom slot.

7. Ensure that the memory module is firmly installed in the slot and cannot be moved easily.

8. Reinstall the bottom slot cover, and then reinstall the screws to secure the cover.

9. Reinstall the battery pack. See “Replacing the battery pack” on page 29.

10. Turn the computer over again. Connect the ac power adapter and all cables.

Replacing the PCI Express Mini Card for wireless LAN/WiMAX
connection

Before you start, print these instructions.

Your computer has a PCI Express Mini Card slot for connection to a wireless LAN/WiMAX. To replace the PCI
Express Mini Card, read the following prerequisites.

During electrical storms, do not connect the cable to or disconnect it from the telephone outlet
on the wall.

DANGER

Electric current from power, telephone, and communication cables is hazardous. To avoid shock
hazard, disconnect the cables before opening the cover of this slot.
