MODULE

Administration and Security

Introduction

This module is aimed at system administrators. However, operators can benefit
from it, too, because they will learn which preference settings they can ask their
administrators to change for them and where they can view the changed settings.

The system administrator is responsible for setting up network connectivity, security
configuration and defining security and global system parameters on the IC-301
print controller. The system administrator is also responsible for updating print
drivers and print connections and enabling the client workstations to access the

Shared

and

Utilities

folders.

In this module, you will learn how to set different access levels. You will also activate
the Web Viewer option and use it for monitoring the progress of a job.

List of Activities

Activity 1: Set Passwords to Define Access Levels

Activity 2: Log On With a Different Access Level

Activity 3: Monitor a Job via the Web Viewer

For more information on system administration functions, see the IC-301 print controller for
bizhub PRO C500 Printer
user guide, chapter 9, System Administration.

Note: If you are working with European paper stock, follow these instructions for all the
activities in this guide:
- Instead of tabloid-size paper, use A3.
- Instead of letter-size paper, use A4.
- Instead of importing files with the suffix Letter (for example,

Chicken_Letter) from the

training CD, import the corresponding files with the suffix A4 (for example,

Chicken_A4).
