Edit a Spot Color

Job pages can contain continuous tone (CT), line work (LW), and spot color
elements. The IC-301 print controller Spot Color Editor enables you to edit the
CMYK values of every spot color. You can edit these values without affecting the CT
or LW elements. The Spot Color Editor also enables you to create custom spot
colors and to define fixed CMYK values for those spot colors. The IC-301 print
controller supports HKS® and PANTONE 2000 spot colors.

New and edited spot colors are saved in a custom dictionary. When a spot-color
element is identified, the IC-301 print controller looks for the name of the spot color
in the custom dictionary and uses the CMYK values assigned to that name.

Procedure

In this activity, you will edit the PANTONE 193 C spot color. You will first print the
job with the default spot color values, then change the CMYK values, and, finally,
print the job again with the edited spot color.

This activity consists of five main steps:

Step 1: Printing the Job With Unedited Spot Colors

Step 2: Previewing the Job

Step 3: Editing a Spot Color

Step 4: Reprinting the Job With the Edited Spot Color

Step 5: Checking New Spot Color Values in the Preview Window
