Overview of the User Box functions 1
1.4.2 Type of boxes (with no hard disk installed)
When no hard disk has been installed, following boxes can be used.
Box Name Function
System
User Box Bulletin Board User
Box This is a box into which documents for perusal are registered. Documents registered
in the bulletin board user box can be polling transmitted according to the polling in-
struction from the other party. In order to use the Bulletin Board User Box, the FAX
kit optionally provided is required.

Polling TX User Box Originals read for the polling transmission are saved in this box. In order to use the
Polling TX User Box, the FAX kit optionally provided is required.

Confidential RX
User Box A document confidentially received is saved. The document is saved in this box
without being printed. It is possible to set up to 20 boxes. In order to use the Confi-
dential RX User Box, the FAX kit optionally provided is required.

Memory RX User
Box When the Memory RX is set to ON, documents received are not printed but saved
in this box. In order to use the Memory RX User Box, the FAX kit optionally provided
is required.

Fax Retransmit User
Box A document which could not be transmitted by redialing because the remote station
was busy or for some other reason is saved in this box for a certain time. The doc-
ument saved can be transmitted again either to the same address or after changing
to a different address. In order to use the Fax Retransmit User Box, the FAX kit op-
tionally provided is required.

External Memory It is possible to use it by connecting it to the USB connector provided on the front
of the machine.
Documents can be saved into the External Memory, and they can also be printed
from the External Memory.
When a hard disk is not installed optionally, documents can only be saved into the
External Memory. No printing of documents from the External Memory can be made.

Relay User Box This is a box provided with a communication password by which documents are
stored for relay and delivery. Registrations can be made at the Intermediate Relay
Station. Up to 5 registrations are available. In order to use the Relay User Box, the
FAX kit optionally provided is required.
