2 A list of detected printers and MFPs appears. From the list, select the
printer or MFP to be installed, and then click the [Next] button.
Only printers and MFPs connected through USB or connected directly
to a TCP/IP network are detected and appear in the list. The list shows
the device name, the IP address (port name), and details on whether
or not it is already installed.

USB is not supported by some printers and MFPs.

Important
Only printers and MFPs connected with a USB connection or
connected directly to a network through TCP/IP are detected.
Printers and MFPs connected with a parallel connection or
connected to a print server must be specified manually. For details,
refer to “Manually Specifying Printers and MFPs That Were Not
Detected (printers and MFPs connected with a parallel connection
or to a print server)” on page 5-5.
If the printer or MFP that you wish to install does not appear in the
list, check that the computer and the printer or MFP are correctly
connected with the USB cable or that the printer or MFP is correctly
connected to the network, and check that the printer or MFP is
turned on.
