For a network connection

Turn on the printer or MFP.

Use the Ethernet cable to connect the printer or MFP to the hub.

Specify the network settings of the printer or MFP.
The network settings can be specified using any of the procedures
described below.

Specify the IP address manually.
Use the control panel of the printer or MFP to specify the IP
address.
For details, refer to the User’s Guide for the printer or MFP.

Use DHCP to automatically acquire the IP address.
In an environment that has a DHCP server, the IP address can be
automatically acquired by simply connecting the printer or MFP to
the network.
For details, refer to the User’s Guide for the printer or MFP.

Use the installer to specify the IP address.
If a temporary address (for example, 169.254.x.x) has been
assigned to the printer or MFP, such as when the IP address
cannot be acquired from the DHCP server, the IP address can be
specified by using the installer.

Note
This method is not supported by some printers and MFPs.
