7 Restrictions
This chapter describes restrictions on usage of the cost-base upper limit
settings.
The following restrictions are applied to devices and users for which the
cost-base upper limit settings can be applied.

The cost-base upper limit settings can be applied only to the devices
registered as devices to be managed by Authentication Manager.
- The cost-base upper limit settings cannot be applied to public users and
User Box administrator users of the device.
- The cost-base upper limit settings cannot be applied to user groups.
If a user logs in to a device to apply the cost-base upper limit settings to it,
the cost available for the user is loaned to the device by Account Manager.
The following restrictions are applied to this operation.

If, in Account Manager, you select [Upper Limit Settings] - [Setting by
User] - [Update] - [Clear the Current Value] for the user who is logging in
to the device or a user who has unprocessed print jobs, the user's current
cost is cleared, but the cost loaned to the device is not cleared.
- If the same user logs in to multiple devices, a user who logs in later will
not be able to operate the devices. This is because all of the first login
user's current cost is loaned by Account Manager to the first logged-in
device and the subsequent login user's current cost is cleared to "0".
- A notification of an upper warning or a notification when an Upper Limit
value has been reached is issued when the cost value loaned to the
device was sent from the device to Account Manager.
- When the cost-base upper limit settings are enabled, the current value is
not added to the counter value for upper limit settings.
The following restrictions are applied to Pricing Setup.

To specify the unit price for the cost-base upper limit settings, select
[Pricing Setup] - [Setting By Device]. Note that the unit price specified by
selecting [Pricing Setup] - [Setting by User] will not be used.
- In [Pricing Setup], it is not possible to add any degression template.
- In [Pricing Setup], it is not possible to assign any degression template to
a unit price template.
- If the following operation is selected on the control panel of the device,
the cost is obtained based on the unit price specified in [Pricing Setup] -
"Copy". "Save to User Box in Application of copy mode", "Save to User
Box in User Box mode"
