The card is not formatted. Format the card.

The battery is drained. Charge the battery.

The camera does not turn on or function buttons do not respond.
The power is off. The camera automatically turns off if it is not
operated for a certain period of time. Set the
power switch to ON. –
The camera enters the
sleep mode. Press the shutter button halfway. P. 133
The battery is drained. Charge the rechargeable battery. When you use
lithium batteries, replace with new ones. –
The battery is temporarily
unable to function
because of the cold. Warm the battery by putting it in your pocket for a
while. –
The camera is connected
to a PC. The camera will not operate while it is connected
to a PC. The optional OLYMPUS Studio software
is required in the [CONTROL] mode. P. 134
