[Windows 98 and Windows Me]

From the Windows [Start] menu, select

Settings,

Control Panel,

System

Next, find the DSSUSB1 Device (DSSUSB1 Device for DS-3000, DSSUSB Device for
DS-320/150, DSXUSB Device for DS-330/10) at the root of the [Device Manager] page and check
that it is operating properly. If the DS-3000 is not working properly, enable it.

[Windows 2000 and Windows XP]

From the Windows [Start] menu, select

Settings,

Control Panel,

System

Next, find the DSSUSB1 Device (DSSUSB1 Device for DS-3000, DSSUSB Device for
DS-320/150, DSXUSB Device for DS-330/10) at the root of the [Device Manager] page and
check that it is operating properly. If the DS-3000 is not working properly, enable it.

[Windows NT 4.0]

From the Windows [Start] menu, select

Settings,

Control Panel,

Devices

Next, select the DS-3000 (USBDSS Device for DS-150 and DSSUSB1 Device for DS-3000)
under [Devices] and click [Hardware Profiles]. Check that the [Status] of the DS-3000 is
[Enabled]. If the [Status] is [Disabled], click [Enable] to set the [Status] to [Enabled].

Other Device Problems

For other device problems such as the SmartMedia Card and removable card, see the manual for
these devices.

Note that DSS Player Pro cannot detect DS-150 recorders or SmartMedia Cards connected via
RS-232C.

Attachment File Problem

In some cases, the receiver may not be able to receive attachment files if you specify [Internet Mail]
in the profile when sending the message. In this case, change the settings as follows.

From the Windows [Start] menu, select

Settings,

Control Panel,

Mail, Service

Here, select Internet Mail and click [Properties] to display the Internet mail properties.

Click [Message Format] to display the [Message Format] dialog box. Check that the [Use MIME
when sending a message] check box is not selected.

Click [OK] to complete the change.
