Open Days Attract more than 3,000 Visitors
to the Liebherr Plant in Ehingen, Germany
Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH held its traditional
open days in Ehingen/Donau (Germany) on June
13 - 14, 2012. The event was a great success with
more than 3,000 visitors from all over the world.
The 2012 program included the presentation of
the new LTM 1750-9.1 and LTR 1220 crane types,
which were both in operation.
A highlight was the spectacular crane mobile;
it demonstrated the exceptional load capacity
of the world’s largest conventional crawler cra-
ne, the LR 13000. Thanks to specifically cons-
tructed cross beams, the flagship of the craw-
ler cranes was able to lift the next largest crane,
the 1,080-tonne LR 11350, which in turn held two
further crawler cranes, the LR 1350 (288 ton-
nes) and the LR 1100 (62 tonnes). In front of the
astonished audience, the LR 13000 rotated and
moved in travel direction with this 1,430-tonne
crane mobile.
Moreover, the visitors had the chance to view the
factory premises, which have been increased to
840,000 m² in total.
After 1999, 2003, 2006 and 2009, the Ehingen
open days took place for the fifth time. Today they
are an industry event that enjoys worldwide reco-
gnition in respect of mobile and crawler cranes.
