This model of Air Locker was manufactured to replace

Nissan differentials which employ one of three distinctly

different methods of retaining the axle shafts.

Full Floating Axles

2

Semi-Floating Axles

3

IFS Bolt-Retained Axle Stubs

Depending on which axle type you have, you may be required

to install one of the thrust blocks included with the Air Locker

kit before mounting the ring gear.

4.2.1

Full Floating Axles

Full-floating axles are completely supported and therefore do not
require a thrust block at all.

4.2.2

Semi-Floating Axles

Semi-floating axles are only retained inward at the wheel end of the
axle shaft and are supported in the center of the axle assembly by a
thrust block.

c With the Air Locker positioned with the cylinder cap bolt heads

facing down, cut the cable ties and remove the flange cap from the
assembly.

c Remove the splined side gear from the assembly.
c Insert the thrust block (ARB Part # 110501) into the hole in the

center of the spider block.

c Re-assemble the side gear and the flange cap.
