Formatting Text and Paragraphs

To change how far apart tabs are by default:

In the Tabs pane of the Text Inspector, type a value in the Default Tabs field.

To create new tab stops:

Place the insertion point in the paragraph (or on the first line) where you want to set

the tab stops.

Click the Add (+) button in the bottom-left corner of the Tabs pane of the Text

Inspector. A tab stop setting appears in the Tab Stops column.

To change tab spacing, double-click the tab stop in the column and type a new value.

With the tab stop selected, select how you want text to align at the tab stop (Left,

Center, Right, or Decimal Alignment).

Set how far you want the
first line of each
paragraph to indent.

If you want to indent a
paragraph relative to the
page margins, specify how
far to indent it.

Add or remove tab stops
from the column.

Choose a leader line for
any tab stop selected in
the Tab Stops paragraph.

For a tab stop selected in
the Tab Stops column,
select how you want the
text to align.

Type a new character to
change the decimal tab
character.

Set the default distance
between tabs.
