Equalizer
The device features a digital equalizer
DEQ+.
This means you have three 5-band equal-
izers, six sound presets and seven vehicle
presets at your disposal.
You can confi gure the EQ1 - EQ3 equaliz-
ers manually. When doing so you can ad-
just (boost or reduce) one frequency of an
equalizer band as well as the quality factor,
i.e. the width of the fi lter.
The following bands are available:
LOW 1 20 - 250 Hz
LOW 2 20 - 250 Hz
HIGH 1 315 - 20,000 Hz
HIGH 2 315 - 20,000 Hz
HIGH 3 315 - 20,000 Hz
Switching the equalizer on/off
To switch the equalizer on/off,
press and hold down the AUD•DEQ
button
; for longer than two sec-
onds.
The equalizer menu appears on the dis-
play.
To activate the equalizer,
select one of the sound presets or ad-
just the equalizer manually. For further
details on this, please read the sections
that follow in this chapter.
To deactivate the equalizer,
press the or button
6 repeatedly
until “EQ OFF” appears on the display.
Press the MENU•OK button

Selecting sound presets
You can select sound presets for the follow-
ing music types.
POP
ROCK
TECHNO
JAZZ
CLASSIC
SPEECH
The settings for these music styles have al-
ready been programmed.
Press and hold down the AUD•DEQ
button
; for longer than two sec-
onds.
Press the or button
6 repeat-
edly until “SOUND PRESETS” appears
on the display.
Press the MENU•OK button

6 repeatedly
until the sound preset that you want is
displayed.
Press the MENU•OK button

then the DIS•ESC

The settings are saved.
Selecting vehicle presets
You can select optimised equalizer settings
for the following vehicle types
:
COMPACT
4DOOR
CONVERT
VAN
ROADSTER
MINI
TRUCK
The settings for these vehicle types have al-
ready been programmed.
