About expansion cards
Expansion cards are printed circuit boards that can be installed in your
computer to give it special features, such as networking capability. Two
slots that accept different sizes of expansion cards are available in
your Macintosh:
m one peripheral component interconnect (PCI) slot that accommodates most
6.88-inch cards
m one PCI slot that accommodates a either a 6.88-inch card or a full-size
12.28-inch card
Your computer also includes a communication slot, which contains a pre-
installed internal modem card.
