Troubleshooting

Problem: There are strange lines on the scanned image, or the

image is not clear.

Solution: Please ensure the following:

• Are there scratches on the original, or is the original

clean? Remove any stains or dust from the original

before scanning.

• Has the scanner been used for a long period of time

without cleaning and calibration? Refer to Cleaning the

scanner on page 17 and Calibrating the scanner on

page 18 to clean and calibrate the scanner and then try

again.

Problem: The original gets stuck halfway in the feeding slot.
Solution: Press the Power button. The original will be ejected from

the scanner for 10 seconds so you can remove the jammed

original.

Problem: The Status indicator blinks rapidly and scanning is

not possible.

Solution: Check the following:

• If a memory card is used, is it locked (set to write-

protect)? Unlock the card.

• If a memory card is used, is it full? The indicator blinks

when the free space on the memory card is below 1MB.

Use another card if necessary.

• If a memory card is used, is it in NTFS or other file

system? The scanner only accepts memory cards in the

FAT16 and FAT32 file systems.

• Is the USB flash drive connected properly to the USB

socket? Re-connect the drive and try again.

• Did you insert the next original before the scanning

process of the previous one is completed? Turn off and

on the scanner and try again. Make sure that you scan the

next original only after the scanning process of the

previous one is completed

• Does the length of the original exceed the maximum

acceptable size? Refer to Suitable and unsuitable types

of originals on page 15 for more information.
