Setting Up Run On Demand (ROD)

Operation

Setting Up Run On Demand (ROD)

The ROD option automatically starts or stops pumps to meet the hydraulic flow
demand from the system. The PLC monitors the hydraulic fluid flow. When the
flow changes beyond a trigger point for a set period of time, one of the pumps is
turned on or off.

Refer to the previous table for a description of the controls referenced in the
following procedure.

1. From the current screen, press the AUTO Setup button on the Main screen.

When the Auto Setup screen displays, make sure the Flow Meter indicator is
in the Flow Meter Present state (blue-green).

2. Set the ROD Flow Buffer.

If necessary, press the associated value pushbutton to display the numeric
keypad and change the value. Press Enter to set the value and return to the
Auto Setup screen. The range shown on the numeric keypad depends on the
number of pump modules installed.

3. Check the ROD On Delay.

If necessary, press the associated value pushbutton to change the delay time.
Use the popup panel described above to increase or decrease the delay.

4. Check the ROD Off Delay.

If necessary, press the associated value pushbutton to change the delay time.
Use the popup panel described above to increase or decrease the delay.

5. Check the Rated Flow Per Module.

This value should only require change if the HPU is provided with pump
modules that have a different full flow rating.

6. Press the Main Display button to return to the Main Display screen.

7. Press the ROD button to enable the run on demand option. The button will

turn green.

8. Press Run to start the HPU in low pressure.

9. Press High Pressure to select high pressure mode.

The number of pumps running will be determined by the setting on the
ROD Setup screen.

10. To disable run on demand after it is running, without turning off the HPU,

press the ROD button will disable it.

11. Pressing the Stop button will turn off the HPU and disable run on demand.
