S HEETROCK Brand Drywall Repair Clips, when used with S HEETROCK ® Brand Gypsum Panels, Joint Tape, and Joint
Compound, meet building code requirements for repairing one-hour fire-rated drywall partitions. Clips are suitable
for both 1/2
Љ and 5/8Љ thick drywall panels.
Each S HEETROCK Drywall Repair Clips package contains:
– 6 drywall repair clips
– 12 drywall screws
Shipping carton contains 6 packages attached to strip hanger.

Cut out damaged panel
section using a utility
knife along the studs
and a keyhole saw
between the studs.
Remove section with
hammer and remove
old screws or nails.
Measure and cut out new
drywall panel section to fit
damaged area. Screw
through new drywall into
each drywall repair clip.
Screw into drywall; position
screw opposite screw hold-
ing clip and about 3/4

from edge. Remove tabs
from each drywall repair clip.
Apply compound and tape to
all four section sides. Do not
overlap tape. After first coat
has hardened, apply second
and third coats of joint com-
pound—allowing each coat
to harden before applying
next coat—feathering out
from previous coats. Sand
and prime when dry.
Slip drywall repair clips
onto the edge of the
damaged wall. Position
screw about 3/4
Љ from
edge and centered
between tabs. This
will line up screw with the
perforations in the clip.
Screw through wall into
each drywall repair clip.
