700VC Custom Firmware

“AE” Option - Cascading Fan and Pump Control
Series B

Cascading fan and pump control uses fixed speed motors to provide
additional process variable control when necessary. The drive output
relays (CR1, CR3) are used to start/stop fixed speed motors based on the
process conditions. The output relays will be energized when the drive
output frequency reaches a user selected frequency and de-energized
when the drive drops below another user selected frequency.

This custom firmware differs from the PowerFlex 700 Vector Control
standard firmware (version 4.002, Series B) in the following ways:
• An additional selection is provided for the digital output control

parameters, [Digital Outx Sel]. This new selection, “Fan & Pump
Ctrl” is selected with a value of “58.”

• Three existing parameters, [Dig Outx Level], were renamed to [Dig

Outx OnLevel]. These parameters are used as the energizing level for
the appropriate output relay.

• Three new parameters, [Dig Outx OffLevel], provide separate

de-energizing frequency levels for the appropriate output relay.

!

ATTENTION: The Custom Firmware supplied is designed for a
specific application and load condition. It differs from the standard
PowerFlex 700 Vector Control product offering and must be installed
and run only under this custom application. Attempting to run this
Custom Firmware under any other type of application, could result in
unpredictable and/or hazardous conditions.

!

ATTENTION: This drive contains ESD (Electrostatic Discharge)
sensitive parts and assemblies. Static control precautions are required
when installing, testing, servicing or repairing this assembly.
Component damage may result if ESD control procedures are not
followed. If you are not familiar with static control procedures,
reference A-B publication 8000-4.5.2, “Guarding Against Electrostatic
Damage” or any other applicable ESD protection handbook.
