700VC Custom Firmware

“AX” Option - 80 Hz Maximum Frequency
Series B

This custom firmware differs from the PowerFlex 700 Vector Control
standard firmware (version 4.006, Series B) in the following ways:

• Drive parameter ranges have been modified to limit the maximum

programmable drive output frequency to 82 Hz or below (80 Hz
maximum speed plus up to 2 Hz overspeed limit). Refer to

Table A

for modified parameter list.

• A “flash restriction” feature has been implemented to restrict user

re-flashing of the drive application firmware. Drives with the custom
“AX” option can only be re-flashed with a similar or newer version
of the custom “AX” firmware. Custom “AX” drives cannot be
re-flashed with standard firmware as this could create a potential
application issue.

!

ATTENTION: The Custom Firmware supplied is designed for a
specific application and load condition. It differs from the standard
PowerFlex 700 Vector Control product offering and must be installed
and run only under this custom application. Attempting to run this
Custom Firmware under any other type of application, could result in
unpredictable and/or hazardous conditions.

!

ATTENTION: This drive contains ESD (Electrostatic Discharge)
sensitive parts and assemblies. Static control precautions are required
when installing, testing, servicing or repairing this assembly.
Component damage may result if ESD control procedures are not
followed. If you are not familiar with static control procedures,
reference A-B publication 8000-4.5.2, “Guarding Against Electrostatic
Damage” or any other applicable ESD protection handbook.
