Installation Instructions

PowerFlex 700 IP54, NEMA/UL Type 12 Gasket
Kit - Frames 7-10

This kit provides the materials needed to mount a Frame 7-10 PowerFlex
700 drive in an enclosure with the heatsink extended outside the enclosure.
With the heatsink exposed to the ambient air, most of the heat loss is
dissipated into the air instead of into the enclosure. When properly installed,
the Gasket Kit is designed to meet IP54, NEMA/UL Type 12 standards.

The precautions, lifting instructions and general installation requirements
provided in the PowerFlex 700 Frame 7-10 Installation Instructions and the
PowerFlex 700 User Manual must be followed.

Kit Contents

Each kit contains the required gasket(s) and screws.

The supplied self-tapping screws have a thread sealant applied to guard
against water damage. These screws are sufficient for mounting the drive in
an enclosure with a minimum thickness of 12 gauge – 2.67 mm (0.1025 in.).

Important: Screws that have a thread sealant applied must be used to guard

against water leakage. Self-tapping screws and the appropriate
drilling pattern are provided. If you choose to use threaded
screws, you must ensure that a thread sealant has been applied
to the screws.

Minimum Mounting
Clearances & Heat
Dissipation

The drive must be mounted vertically with sufficient space at the top, sides,
and front of the cabinet to allow for proper heat dissipation.

Refer to the Frame 7-10 Installation Instructions for heat dissipation
information. For all ratings, you must verify that the selected enclosure
dissipates the heat generated within the enclosure and without letting the
internal ambient rise above 65 degrees C (149 degrees F).
