Step 5: Remove the
Discharge Resistor

1. Remove the mounting screws (4).
2. Cut the wire at each soldered terminal directly behind the terminal. Leave as much

wire as possible for reassembly.

3. Dispose of the discharge resistor properly.

IMPORTANT

Depending on sizing, the SAR may have three, or four, discharge
resistors. The example below shows four discharge resistors. Replace
only the damaged discharge resistors, as needed. It is not necessary to
replace all the discharge resistors at the same time.

Soldered Terminals (2).
Cut the wire directly
behind the terminal.

Mounting Screws (4)
Tightening torque:
2.5…4 N•m
(22…35.4 lb•in)

Discharge

Depending on
