Wiring Your 8720SM Motor
Power
The procedures in this section assume you have installed your 8720SM
motor correctly. This section includes:
•
determining conduit box orientation
•
wiring your motor power
•
determining your feedback connections
•
verifying thermal protector (thermostat leads) connections
Determining Conduit Box Orientation
The standard conduit box location for totally enclosed motors is top
mounted for left or right conduit entry without motor disassembly.
The 8720SM motors allow rotation of the conduit box in 90 degree
increments for lead outlet at front, back, or sides.
Wiring Your Motor Power
To wire your 8720SM three-phase motor power:
1. Bring 4 wire shielded Beldon VFD cable or equal to these
connections. For applications above 130A, use thick insulation
lead wire such as RHW-2 or equal and thread the wires through a
single grounded metal conduit.
