5. Remove all customer connections, ribbon cable, thermal switch,

SERCOS interface, and SCANport

connectosr from the control

board (refer to Figure 1 for locations).

6. Remove the six control board screws (hold the control board in

place until the last screw is removed).

Replacing the 8720MC Control Board

To replace the 8720MC control board:

1. Install the new control board and replace the six control board

screws.

2. Replace the customer connections, ribbon cable, thermal switch,

SERCOS interface, and SCANport

connectors (refer to Figure 1).

3. Replace the HIM adapter (if present) and the four screws removed

earlier.

4. With the mating connectors properly aligned, snap the HIM into

place.

5. Replace the drive cover and restore power to the drive.

6. Program the drive as described in the 8720MC High Performance

Drives Integration Manual (publication 8720MC-IN002x-EN-P).

Only those familiar with SCANport devices and
associated machinery should plan or implement
the installation, startup, or subsequent
troubleshooting of this board. Failure to comply
may result in personal injury or damage to
equipment.
