10 Click Finish to complete the installation.
11 Restart the system.

Updating an Existing Windows Driver

Perform the following steps to update the Windows driver for the SAS 5 HBA already installed on
your system

.

NOTE:

It is important that you close all applications on your system before you update the driver.

1 Click Start

The System Properties screen appears.

NOTE:

For systems running Windows Server 2003 operating system, click

Start

Control Panel

System.

2 Click on the Hardware tab.
3 Click Device Manager.

The Device Manager screen appears.

4 Double-click on SCSI and RAID Controllers.
5 Double-click the SAS 5 HBA for which you want to update the driver.
6 Click the Driver tab and click on Update Driver.

The screen for the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard displays.

7 Provide the appropriate driver package (from your driver diskette) on the Locate Driver Files screen.
8 Select Install from a list or specific location.
9 Click Next.

10 Follow the steps in the wizard to search the diskette for the driver.
11 Select the .INF file from the diskette.

NOTE:

For systems running Windows Server 2003 operating system, select the name of the driver,

not the

.INF file.

12 Click Next and continue the installation steps in the wizard.
13 Click Finish to exit the wizard and restart the system for the changes to take place.

Installing the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Driver

Use the procedures in this section to install the driver for Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS (versions 3, 4, and 5)
and ES (versions 3, 4, and 5).

NOTE:

The device driver for Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS Version 5 is native. To ensure you have the latest version

of this driver, check the Dell Support website at

support.dell.com. If a newer version exists, you can download the

driver to your system.
